After a brief hiatus from food printing, 3D Systems Corporation, a leading provider of 3D printing solutions: 3D printers, consumables and custom part manufacturing services for professionals and consumers, and CSM Bakery Solutions, a global leader in ingredients, products and services for the food industry, have announced a 3D food collaboration. Their goal is to bring innovative and creative 3D culinary products to market.
Through this collaboration, CSM Bakery Solutions will provide food and bakery ingredients, products and services to 3D Systems Corporation. In turn, CSM will participate in the development and have exclusive rights to use the ChefJet Pro 3D printer.
The printer is based on 3DP, which allows the formation of thin layers of sugar-containing powders. Consumables for this printer are: chocolate, caramel and sugar. Due to technological solutions, the printer is able to create multicolor models. Large construction area 255x355x295 mm, will allow you to realize almost any culinary creation. Thanks to this assistant, the confectioner will be able to create exclusive and edible masterpieces.
CSM hopes that they can use 3D printing technology to impress their customers and be able to create new designs. In addition to the benefits of automated processes, there are certain shapes for caramel and chocolate candies that only 3D printing can produce. This can help a company to be out of the competition.
ChefJet Pro uses powdered sugar and hydrated food coloring to produce candy, baked goods, and chocolate. The ChefJet has 4 print heads that allow you to create multi-color prints. This printer and its little brother, the Monochrome ChefJet, are mostly different in size. The Pro has a build volume of 255x355x205mm. The Monochrome ChefJet is the smaller version with a print area of 200 x 200 x 150 mm. Another difference is that, as the name implies, the Monochrome only prints in one color.
